Wheeling’ Walla Walla
For almost three decades, wheels of all sorts have been celebrated in Walla Walla. Each September the streets and fairgrounds of Walla Walla are lined with all types of vehicles. This family friendly event features the classics. More than four hundred cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more will be displayed for attendees’ viewing pleasure.
You’ll even be able to see Rat Rods in the mix! The event kicks off on Friday night for attendees and during the day for participants. The cars line up at the Walla Walla Fairgrounds late in the afternoon in preparation for the Friday Night Classic Cruise.
Stop by the Big House Brew Pub for their Wheeling’ WW beer, which is brewed for this event. Other activities during the classic car weekend include live music, food vendors, a Poker Walk, and all those amazing wheels.
Overlapping Wheeling’ Walla Walla Weekend
Walla Walla’s Farmers Market, which occurs from early May until mid-December, and the Summer Concert Series that happens from July until mid-September both take place during the Wheeling’ Walla Walla events.
Letting you enjoy Outside Walla Walla, the Farmers Market happens every Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. In the summer, you’ll find the market on West Main Street at the Farmers Market Pavilion. For the colder months of November and December the market moves indoors to the Showroom on Colville. It’s a great place to purchase fresh foods and handmade items from local artisans.
On Saturdays evenings from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm there is live music that is part of the Walla Walla Summer Concert Series. A second band plays from 8:00 to 10:00 pm. Head down to the intersection of First and Main and enjoy the performances!
Holiday Parade of Lights
Getting everyone into the spirit of the December holidays is the Annual Holiday Parade of Lights. Held the first Saturday of the month in downtown Walla Walla, the parade starts from the intersection of Fifth and Alder Streets.
Join the parade as a participant and be sure to be full of festive lights. Prizes are awarded to the top three entries. Or attend the parade as a spectator and view the stream of holiday lights. Either way it is a fun and festive evening.
Walla Walla Guitar Festival
Usually held the second weekend of March is a three-day celebration of music. Walla Walla Guitar Festival is held throughout the town at twelve different venues. The more than twenty performers will include R&B bands, jazz, rock, roots, and some funk. Music starts on Friday evening until Sunday afternoon. Local musicians, regional, and even some nationally known bands will provide lively music for all. Get your tickets early!
